Oscar Junior Spoon

Oscar Junior Spoon, age 92, of Ripley passed away Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Home of Dyersburg, TN. Oscar was born April 8, 1927 in Nankipoo, TN. He is the son of the late John M and the late Mozella (Hubbard) Spoon. He was a retired farm mechanic. Oscar served in the United States Army. He is survived by four daughters: Mary Morie of Ripley, TN, June Hall of Bells, TN, Rebecca Lovelace of Halls, TN and Vicki Rose of Gates, TN, and three sons: Oneal Spoon of Dyersburg, TN, David Spoon of Ripley, TN and James Spoon of Percy, IL. Oscar also leaves one sister Marie Nunn of Reno, NV. Oscar was preceded in death by two daughters Debra Spoon and Patricia Spoon and a son Paul Spoon. One sister Margie Maners, four brothers, Lewis Spoon, Dewey Spoon, Johnny Spoon, and Bill Spoon. The funeral will be held 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 14 at Halls Funeral Home, 109 N. Church St., Halls, TN with Bro. Johnny Emerson officiating. Burial will be in Enon Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, August 14 from 12:00pm until service time at Halls Funeral Home, 109 N. Church St., Halls, TN.
