John M. Gillon

John M. Gillon, age 95, of Gates passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Jackson General Hospital of Jackson, TN. John M. was born July 14, 1924 in Crockett Co., TN. He is the son of the late John Henry and the late Rosa (Henley) Gillon. He was married to the late Ethel Lorene Quillin. He was a retired agriculture mechanic and a member of the Chestnut Bluff Church of Christ. He is survived by four daughters: Shelia (Dale) Thornton of Gates, TN, Connie (Melvin) Lawson of Halls, TN, Lisa (William) Curtis of Friendship, TN and Margie (William) Collins of Halls, TN, and three sons: Mike (Pam) Gillon of Halls, TN, Harvey (Judy) Gillon of Humboldt, TN and Timmy (Susie) Gillon of Halls, TN. He also leaves 7 grandchildren,15 great-grandchildren and 4 great -great-grandchildren. John M. was preceded in death by four sisters Virgie Spann, Ophelia Riley, Bessie Garner and Emma Spratlin, three brothers Hollis Gillon, Neal Gillon, and Waylon Gillon. The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Friday, July 19 at Halls Funeral Home, 109 N. Church St., Halls, TN with Bro. Bill Haynie officiating. Burial will be in Friendship cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, July 18 from 5 - 8pm at Halls Funeral Home, 109 N. Church St., Halls, TN. .
